Prof. George F. Smoot III (1945-2025) was the Founding Director of the Energetic Cosmos Laboratory, whose vision and leadership shaped the lab from its earliest days. His scientific legacy and his commitment to building research excellence at Nazarbayev University continue to guide our work. We remember him with gratitude and deep respect.
